Quilt Market, Part 1

I would safely say that Quilt Market was mind-blowing and life-changing for me this weekend.  Because I am studying graphic design, I have put off all things were related to quilts and fabrics.  I fell behind on developing my fabric patterns and put off designing new quilts.  I was focused in on the graphic design field.  This weekend changed all that for me.  It put me back into the path that I was MEANT to be on - textiles and quilt designs.  Everybody that I met was so nice and encouraging to both Brit and I, telling us to "Go for it!".  Amazing, huh?  I really thought people would try to discourage us but it was the total opposite.  This weekend, Psalms 32:8 came alive for us.

"I will instruct and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye upon you."

On to the good stuff.  Look at who we got to meet!

Anna Maria Horner.  She is so beautiful.  She is Brit's favorite designer so she was very happy.

Amy Butler, my favorite designer.  I was in awe.  She is very nice and even took the time to listen to our dreams and goals.  She encouraged us to push on. :)

Ty Pennington.  I was star-struck for sure.  I've watched many episodes of Extreme Home Makeover and it was surreal to meet someone on TV.  My first celebrity!  He is very nice and even asked for our business cards!

Sandi Henderson.  She's awesome.  I've been using her fabrics since the first time I started sewing.  She is so nice and asked us many questions about our business.

And Ann Kelle.  The nicest and sweetest and friendliest person ever.  We spent a lot of time with her in her booth.  She then invited us to dinner at the Robert Kaufman Party.  It was unbelievable...an invitation from Ann Kelle!  We got to talk for a couple hours at dinner and we have upcoming projects planned out with her in the future. :)

And here are a couple pictures of the booths we saw.

David Butler's (Amy's husband) booth. He's launching a new fabric line and I am kind of in love with it. It's perfect to use for all those men in our lives.

Patricia Bravo's booth.  She wasn't there when we walked to it.

And Echino's booth.  Funness!

So that is all I have.  I'll be back with more pics tomorrow.  Happy Tuesday!

  1. AWESOME!!!!!

On a personal note, I don't have a business or anything, but when I sew, knit, write patterns, etc., I too feel like I am doing what I was meant to do. A nice feeling isn't it?
